FAQ

QUESTION

Once I have a full team of all Heroes or Villains and I own the Citrine Hearts do I win the game?

ANSWER

Yes, but keep in mind someone may use an ANYTIME card to stop you from winning at the last moment. If for example someone uses a “Doppleganger” card on one of your characters, you now DO NOT have a full team of all Heroes or Villains and the game has been stalled out for a little while longer. ANYTIME cards should be encouraged in that sort of gameplay.

QUESTION

Can I play the same Character cards on my team more than once?

ANSWER

Yes you are able to do that and they count as individual characters towards the end goal of having a full team. If you had 2 Captain Cosmo, and 1 Sharpshooter Sazera on your team, you have 3 Villains total towards your full team.

QUESTION

Does a “Transmute Element” card only work for using the card while attacking or does it also allow a character to equip any element to any Character if required?

ANSWER

The “Transmute Element” card allows you to use any element for any purpose. As an example, if you had a Fire Element card and you needed a Light Element card to EQUIP to Princess Pomelo to use her ability, you may use the “Transmute Element” card in this way.

QUESTION

If I have a Character that has an ability that requires me to DISCARD an element card to use it, can I DISCARD a Character with that same element and use the ability?

ANSWER

No, you must use an element card not, a Character to activate, an ability. You may, however, use a transmute element card in combination with an element card to do so.

QUESTION

I have a Character that has a TRANSFORM icon on it. Can I play them on my team right away?

ANSWER

No, you must have the character featured in the transform icon already on your team before you do so. Playing a Character that TRANSFORMS counts as your standard Character play action unless otherwise stated.

FAQ
  • If you use a card that steals a Hero or a Villain, “A Magical Coronation!?” for example, and then another player uses the ANYTIME card “Doppelganger” to defend against it, the player is still entitled to steal a Hero from any player if one is available (including the initial target player). If one is not available that card goes into the discard pile as it was used that up on that turn.
  • When you STEAL something from another player, any and all cards equipped to that character, including the Citrine Hearts, are also stolen.
  • If you attack with an element card and it has an additional effect to the card but an opponent blocks the attack from happening, the attack AND the secondary effect are not activated.
  • EQUIPPING an element to a character DOES NOT increase that character’s stats by the amount written on the card.
  • “Lustrous Laser” element card allows you to attack two times in the turn it was played with two separate characters you control and two separate targets. Once with the character you played Lustrous Laser with, at a +3 SP increase, and a second time with a different character you control against a new target at their base HP.
  • “Shanty Martini” must be played on your team as a character, BEFORE, you are able to activate his ability. Once you do activate that ability, “Shanty Martini” will be treated as a Gear and NOT as a character.
  • “Princess Orange” is the only princess that can be TRANSFORMED into “Princess Blood Orange”. There is a transform icon on “Princess Blood Orange” to indicate that only “Princess Orange” can be transformed into her.
  • “Princess Blood Orange” is considered both a Hero and a Villain. She is not affected by cards that change your alignment like “Moral Compass”, however, she is extra susceptible to other cards like “A Magical Coronation” which would STEAL any Hero in play AND also effected by “Combination Attack” which prevent a Villain from being played and then discarded.
Her distinction comes into play only at the end of a game in which you have a full team of either all Heroes or all Villains. Only in that situation will she be only a Hero OR only a Villain.
